Assessing the Impact of Post-Production Infrastructure on Women’s Economic Empowerment and Access to Nutritious Diets among Female Legume Growers and Processors in Northern Ghana

Assessing the Impact of Post-Production Infrastructure on Women’s Economic Empowerment and Access to Nutritious Diets among Female Legume Growers and Processors in Northern Ghana, led by Dr. Ebenezer Owusu-Addo from the Bureau of Integrated Rural Development (BIRD) at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). This project seeks to investigate the extent to which processing infrastructure contributes to improved access to nutritious diets and economic empowerment of women engaged in groundnut processing in Northern Ghana. The rationale for the focus on groundnut, among several leguminous crops grown in Ghana, is motivated by its immense nutritional benefits as well as its contribution to income, employment, and overall livelihoods of producers, traders, processors, and other actors along the supply chain, especially women.
