The International Centre for Evaluation and Development (ICED) with the support of the Science For Africa Foundation (SFA Foundation) brought together about seventy (70) key stakeholders within the agricultural and climate change sector mainly from academia, policy makers, development practitioners, researchers, donors, Civil Society Organizations, Government institutions and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) across the African continent for a stakeholder engagement workshop on climate change adaptation held at the Institute of Statistical Social and Economic Research (ISSER), University of Ghana on the 2nd of May, 2024 from 8:30 am – 2:00 pm GMT.
The International Centre for Evaluation and Development (ICED), an Africa-based and led “Think-and-Do-Tank” that combines research and innovation with extensive practical experience in evaluation for development in Africa, has received funding from the Hewlett Foundation to support its work in Africa. ICED would be developing an Evidence and Gap Map for Gender Equity, that will enable the production and design of Evidence-Based Decision-Making Products (EBDMPs) and tools that can promote high utilization of evidence in the Foundation’s Gender Equity and Governance Program in West and East Africa, and support the work of the Foundation’s grantees.
The specific objectives for this work with the Foundation involves the development of an Evidence and Gap Map (EGM); conducting evidence synthesis; and the publication of cell wise synthesis and summaries for policy briefs, systematic reviews and meta-analysis, guidelines, protocols, and checklists, to support evidence-informed policies and practices for specific interventions. In view of the above, ICED engaged with the Foundation’s grantees.
The objectives of this consultative engagement were:
