Prof. Hugh Waddington

Bio

Hugh is an economist and environmental health impact evaluation expert, specialising in policy research on topics like water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), agriculture and governance, using methods like impact evaluation, systematic review and meta-analysis. As the founding head of 3ie's Systematic Reviews Programme, he commissioned, designed, supported and led over 100 systematic reviews and impact evaluations of development and health programmes. 

He is currently Assistant Professor at LSHTM based in London and elected Co-Chair of the Campbell Collaboration Climate Solutions Coordinating Group. He has lived and worked for long periods in India, based at 3ie's Evaluation Office, Rwanda, based at the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning (MINECOFIN), and the USA, for the World Bank.
