I am Rebecca Bolatito Ibe, a PhD degree holder in Agricultural Economist with 16 years research experience. I am currently a Chief Research Officer at the National Horticultural Research Institute (NIHORT), Ibadan, Nigeria. My burning passion has been to contribute immensely to sustainable economic development and to achieve this, I have led several researches and also collaborated with other change agents to design and execute demand-driven research. My research involves the dissemination of improved, cost-effective and eco-friendly horticultural crops production, marketing and utilization techniques, capacity building and impact assessment.
I have been privileged to attend conferences, seminars, workshops and capacity building programs locally and internationally in order to acquire more knowledge and skills that will place me on the right pedestal to actualize my dream. I am a member of the International Society for Horticultural Science (ISHS), Horticultural Society of Nigeria (HORTSON), Organization of Women in Science and Development (OWSD). I have also obtained the following fellowships: MASHAV (Israel, 2012), Netherlands Fellowship (2016); Australia Africa Awards (2017); Global Change Leaders (Canada, 2018). I have also authored and co-authored research articles in reputable journals and conference proceedings.
