Arnold Opiyo is an Associate Professor of Horticulture at Egerton University (Kenya). He has several over thirty years experience in teaching and research at University as well as consultancy in horticulture; as well as successfully supervised several graduate students. His current research focus is on the reduction of quantitative and qualitative losses at different stages between production and consumption. Of special interest is the application of affordable cooling and packaging technologies for smallholder horticulture producers. He has led and participated in several projects and consultancies nationally and internationally.
