Peninah Yumbya serves as the East Africa Regional Hub Manager for the Feed the Future Innovation Lab for Horticulture research portfolio, hosted by ICED. She holds a Ph.D. in Horticulture from the University of Nairobi, Kenya.
She is an Accomplished Horticultural scientist and innovator of practical solutions in agriculture with over ten years of experience. She has vast knowledge and experience in research management, project planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation. Peninah possess hands-on expertise in designing, implementing, and evaluating research and innovations across the agricultural sector with a keen focus on reducing postharvest losses and enhancing market access in the global south. Her experience is drawn from working with local and international development institutions across different countries in Sub Saharan Africa among them USAID, International Development Research Centre (IDRC) and the Kenyan government.
Her reputation is built on unwavering reliability, strong work ethics and meticulous attention to detail and a proven track record of fostering collaboration and communication among teams and partners.
