As the East Africa Horticulture Regional Hub Manager, Peninah Mueni Yumbya coordinates the research portfolio for the Feed the Future Innovation Lab for Horticulture in the East Africa region.
Peninah holds a PhD in Horticulture from University of Nairobi, Kenya. Prior to joining ICED, Peninah was involved in research, as well as teaching students and supervising outreach activities of the Faculty of Agriculture at University of Nairobi. Peninah’s genuine desire to contribute to advancements in agricultural research and development. Her passion for making a positive impact on society—aligned with ICED’s focus on evidence-based research, innovation and continuous monitoring and evaluation—fuels her work.
When Peninah isn’t using her skills in research and innovation to support work that inform policies, she derives immense joy and satisfaction from indulging in nature walks.
