Bio

Hon. Lydia Seyram Alhassan is the Member of Parliament for the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency in the Greater Accra Region and the Minister of Sanitation and Water Resources for the 8th Parliament of the fourth Republic of Ghana.

Before her appointment as a Cabinet Minister, she served as a member of the Mines and Energy Committee as well as the Health Committee in Parliament.

Hon. Lydia Seyram Alhassan holds an MBA in Marketing from the University of Ghana Business School, Legon and a Bachelor of Administration from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA).

In addition,  she is an entrepreneur who possesses a high-level understanding of the policies and regulations of Ghana's medical supply chain and pharmaceutical industry. She was the Vice Chairperson of the Pharmaceutical Importers and Wholesalers Association of Ghana (2016-2019) and an executive member of the Chamber of Pharmacy.

Maa Lydia, as she is affectionately called, is a strong advocate for women's representation and the vulnerable in society.
