Dr Gordon Akon-Yamga

Bio

Dr. Gordon Akon-Yamga is a distinguished researcher with over 17 years of experience, specialising in the circular bioeconomy, science technology and innovation (STI) policy, environmental sustainability, natural resources governance, and stakeholder engagement. He is presently the Ghana Coordinator of a European Union-Funded project—Achieving wider uptake of water smart solutions (WIDER UPTAKE)—that focuses on circular bioeconomy. Dr. Akon-Yamga is also Head of the Commercialisation and Information Division at the CSIR-Science and Technology Policy Research Institute. His work has notably advanced STI across Africa.  

Dr. Akon-Yamga earned his PhD in Environmental Philosophy from the University of North Texas, USA, in 2018. He also holds a Master of Philosophy in Environmental Science (2005) and a Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) in Geography and Resource Development (2001) from the University of Ghana, Legon. This robust educational background underpins his multidisciplinary approach to research and policy analysis.
