Rachael Sevu Mueni is a Data Analyst Scientist with ICED, tasked with data design and collection, processing, database management, analysis, report writing and presentation, and capacity building. She is currently working on the “Economic Viability of Kenyan’s Horticulture Industry Project” under the Feed the Future Innovation Lab for Horticulture as a data analyst.
She has five (5) years of experience working in research with Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organization (KALRO-Alupe) as a biometrician collecting and analyzing data, and writing reports, and was also head of the Socioeconomics and Biometrics Department. In KALRO, Rachael worked on different projects such as "Scaling up Sustainable Land Management" and on the "Agro-biodiversity Conservation Agriculture" project, aimed at reducing environmental degradation in small-scale agriculture in western Kenya, funded by GEF-UNEP-AGRA-KALRO. As a monitoring and evaluation assistant on the conservation project, her responsibilities included SLM database system management, data quality assessment and analysis, report writing and presentation of results. She has also worked with GIZ Conservation Agriculture project as a data manager, a project tasked with training and mentoring of ATVET Institutions on Conservation Agriculture Tools and Equipment that included Bungoma, Mabanga, and Bukura Agricultural Training Development Centers (ATDC), implemented in Kakamega, Bungoma, and Siaya Counties.
She has also worked with different consulting firms including Kaizen International as an associate training & management consultant, and is recently worked on a "Midterm Evaluation Exercise for Strengthening Regenerative Agriculture" (STRAK) project in Kenya, funded by IKEA Foundation and implemented by CGA & Farm Africa in Makueni, Embu, and Tharanithi Counties, as the data analyst and a chief operations officer in charge of the activity.
Rachael holds both a master’s and bachelor’s degree in Statistics from Kibabii University. She is a certified Member of Kenya National Statistical Society (KNSS). Her skills include adequate statistical data analysis, database management and data visualization, Kobo toolbox, and ArcGIS tools.
