Determining the cost-benefit of integrating horticulture into staple crop production in Kenya

Determining the cost-benefit of integrating horticulture into staple crop production in Kenya, led by Kwadwo Danso-Mensah from the International Centre for Evaluation and Development, will determine the cost-benefit of integrating horticulture with staple production for women smallholder farmers in Kenya. The project is also examining structures of decision-making regarding nutritious diet, income, land use, and time availability. This will inform policymakers and small-scale women farmers on the best approaches to and benefits of integrating horticulture with staple crops at a small scale.

Deliverables to be produced include policy briefs and working papers, with metrics and recommendations spanning across nutrition, economic, social, and production variables, all to inform policy makers and women small-scale producers on the potentials and impacts of diversifying production.
