Kwadwo Danso-Mensah is the Director of Research at ICED, where he oversees all projects in monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL), and leads Business Development for the organization. His role revolves around leading initiatives that involve conceptualization, designing, and implementation of program evaluation in private and public sectors in Africa. He also promotes rigorous, evidence-informed practices and approaches in monitoring, learning and evaluation with the aim of improving the wellbeing of individuals, societies, and ecosystems in the Global South.
Kwadwo holds a PhD. in Development Economics from University of Ghana and has extensive education in economics and statistics. Before joining ICED, he was a recipient of the African Research Universities Alliance (ARUA)-Carnegie Early Career Research Fellowships in 2021, working as research fellow with the African Centre of Excellence for inequalities research (ACEIR) at the University of Cape Town (UCT), South Africa. He is currently an associate of the Ghana node of ACEIR at the Institute of Social, Statistical and Economic Research (ISSER), University of Ghana.
His MEL experience covers managing a portfolio of programmes including complex multi-country programmes, progress reviews, evidence generation and synthesis. Over many years he has gained excellent writing and data analysis skills, thought leadership through research and innovative approaches in M&E of policy and advocacy interventions, strong project, and team management skills with outstanding record of project delivery. His networking skills are well developed with appreciable contacts within Sub-Saharan Africa.
Kwadwo’s passion for leveraging development economics to make an impact aligns his work with ICED and in the non-profit sector. In his free time, Kwadwo spends time with his family, creating lifetime memories.
