Joseph Asunka is the CEO of Afrobarometer, a pan-African survey research organization that conducts public attitude surveys on the continent. He was previously Program Officer at the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation where he managed a portfolio of grants to increase government transparency and accountability around fiscal policy. Before joining Hewlett, Joseph was a lecturer in political science at the University of California, Los Angeles. Prior to this, Joseph served as program officer at the Ghana Center for Democratic Development.
Joseph’s research interests include distributive politics, elections, electoral processes, and migration. Joseph holds first and second degrees in Statistics & Computer Science and Economics from the University of Ghana and a Ph.D. in political science from the University of California at Los Angeles.
