Making better use of evidence for sustainable development – Methods of Meta-Analysis
This workshop brings together key stakeholders, researchers, practitioners, and policymakers to discuss and explore effective strategies for addressing biases in the evidence base and utilizing evidence in decision-making processes. This event is particularly significant as it will provide a platform to share insights, best practices, and innovative approaches to enhance evidence-based policy and practice.
During this workshop, we anticipate the following: disseminating findings from ongoing research on evidence generation and synthesis from various thematic areas; discussing the practical application of evidence in policy and practice; fostering collaboration among stakeholders to enhance evidence-based decision-making; and covering methods for meta-analysis of experimental, quasi-experimental and observational data in using existing data to address biases and incorporating advances in statistical methods. Your expertise and experience in utilising evidence to inform policies will be invaluable to the discussions and outcomes of this workshop. We believe your participation will contribute to the success of this event and help shape future initiatives in our efforts to promote evidence-based practices.
The workshop is a side event at the 7th Evidence to Action (E2A) Conference, organized by the International Centre for Evaluation and Development (ICED), Feed the Future Innovation Lab for Markets, Risk, and Resilience (MRR) at University of California - Davis, the Institute of Statistical, Social and Economic Research (ISSER) - University of Ghana, in partnership with the Ministry of Environment, Science, Technology & Innovation (MESTI) Ghana and other collaborators.
